On March 25, 2026, the DeKalb Schools Educational Foundation will join the district in co-hosting the “State of the District” at Cedar Grove High School. The event will begin at 11am, with a reception for our invited guests. Civic, corporate, and elected officials across metro Atlanta will attend this community event, to hear the Interim Superintendent’s message about the vision and goals for the year ahead, and the path forward. Sponsorships help fund the Foundation’s grantmaking programs – providing grants that invest in students, teachers, and schools.

The efforts to support our students and teachers in DeKalb County, the third largest school system in Georgia, have a direct impact on Dekalb county. The Foundation’s efforts and partnerships are intended to ensure students are learning and graduating with a sustainable plan for success. This goal supports broad community needs for workforce development and bolsters the collective strength of our regional economy. This year we hope to raise $100,000 to fund grants for schools across the district. The Foundation focuses on funding educator-led and student inspired projects that advance literacy, promote student and educator well-being, and strengthen teacher excellence. Foundation Impact Highlights:

• Microgrants: Small grants ($1,500–$4,000) empower educators to implement creative strategies, test new tools, and address classroom needs quickly. Projects include after-school reading clubs, bilingual library books, robotics/STEM training, and wellness initiatives.
• Field Trip Grants: Funding ensures every child can participate in field trips, regardless of family finances.
• Fast, Equitable, Scalable: Funds are awarded within weeks, distributed across neighborhoods and grade levels, and designed for replication and measurable impact.
