On October 9th, Lutheran Services of Georgia's Refugee & Immigration Services program will expand its employment services to include all low-income DeKalb citizens interested in improving their financial planning and opportunities. Thanks to a renewable grant from Local Initiatives Support Corporate (LISC) and several generous donors, the center will focus on financial coaching, along with other tailored supportive services, to help people find employment, raise their incomes, improve their credit and save for the future. “We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working in partnership with LISC and donors who believe in these refugees and DeKalb residents,” says John Moeller, CEO, Lutheran Services of Georgia. “At the heart of LSG’s mission is equipping those we serve with the tools they need to be self-sufficient and thrive. By opening this FOC, we will train and empower individuals to advocate for themselves in the workplace and make smart financial decisions that will enhance their future.”
