Please join us for this meeting as we welcome special guests:
Jason Martin, Executive Director, STE(A)M Truck (www.steamtruck.org), Executive Director Community Guilds
Jason founded Community Guilds in 2013, a Georgia based nonprofit that allows kids to tackle real problems, design solutions and then, with community experts, build something together. Their award-winning STE(A)M Truck program is the vehicle, literally and figuratively, they use to close opportunity gaps too often predicted by zip code. Prior to his work at Community Guilds, Jason help launch the first charter school in New York City, led school turnaround efforts within several states, and worked at the GADOE implementing system-level reform. However, his most formative career experiences were growing up on a farm, working as a mason's apprentice and managing 5 year olds as a Kindergarten teacher. Jason has degrees from Rutgers University and Columbia Univerity and has been selected into several prestigious Fellowships including: Leadership Atlanta, Ashoka, Points of Light Civic Accelerator, and 4.0 Schools.
