About the Keynote Speaker
Catherine Downey
Founder, CEO & Creative Director
CATMEDIA
Catherine began her career in media as Director of Marketing & Broadcast Promotions for a Memphis-based television station. Through this and other executive level positions, she honed her skills in media buying, budget development, staff and project management, and creative processes such as writing, directing, and producing. Perhaps one of the most important things she learned was the value of building and maintaining solid customer relationships.
Fifteen years later, after continued growth and success in the television and advertising arenas, Catherine struck out on her own and founded CATVIDEO in 1997.
In 2011, with an astute awareness of the ever-changing world of technology and a steadily growing portfolio of federal clients, Catherine transformed CATVIDEO into CATMEDIA. This name change is a direct reflection of the way Catherine seeks out and embraces technological advancement and changes in how people use media and training.
Catherine’s strengths are the foundation of what we do at CATMEDIA. An innovator at her core, she is named on two Patent-pending applications for communication and training technologies. She is deeply in touch with the creative world, propelling CATMEDIA in its capability to offer innovative training and creative solutions.
With her unique ability to match a company or organization’s message to just the right creative service, she provides the most effective communication strategies possible. Catherine continuously offers cutting edge marketing and production services, interactive media, and learning opportunities for CATMEDIA clients.
In 2016 Catherine added two new divisions to her company:CATMEDIA The Agency, a commercial advertising agency that mirrors verticals of the company’s federal client base and CATMEDIA Entertainment. The entertainment division currently has three projects in production: a full-length feature film (in post production), a documentary around the subject of sex trafficking (in production), and a sitcom pilot in script development.
Visual communication is Catherine’s passion, and it was she who coined the company’s long-held slogan—“Turning visions into motion.”
